Pop-Up Windows Done Right

  • Reported by James

Old news to some designers but I often see horrible pop-up code. Youngpup.net has the right way to approach this common design challenge.

Would be nice if someone made a Dreamweaver plugin to do this.

Good point James, I also recently disovered Youngpup’s pop-up script and also the rollover script, which makes implementation super super easy and quick. Both of these scripts can be combined into one very usefull external javascript file.

Youngpup has some great menu implimentations as well, they all are very compatible with current browsers, tend to follow standards, and degrade gracefully. The author is hell of a smart guy.

Recently I developed a DW extension to do pop-ups the way the author of Youngpup.net proposes.

It’s called “Popup Link” and it is available from www.ribbers-zeewolde.nl/dreamweaver
