Megan Morrone describes the email address encoder
Screen showing the tagline with Dans name

Dan P. Benjamin has been awareded free advertising on TechTV's show "The Screen Savers" by the pure merit of his email address encoder. The encoder was featured yesterday as the "Download of the Day", and mentioned several times during the show. Congratulations Dan.

Pretty soon, we're going to be seeing Billy Mays hawking "The Hivelogic Email Encoder" alongside of Oxy-Clean ("MAKE IT A PASTE-MAKE IT THREE TIMES AS POWERFUL!!") and that orange cleaner stuff. I can see it now... OK, maybe not. Dan's got some good stuff over there. And his writing is good, too.

Of course you realize that the more publicity his utility receives, the more likely that spammers will work a little harder to figure out how to defeat it.

Is that photo supposed to show that the illustrious Mr. B. has also encoded his appearance?

Regarding the efficacy of the address encoder, note my comment on this old thread. As another alternative approach, I was quite intrigued today to see Simon Willison's method, which I hadn't heard of before.
